Tim & Amanda - Truly Awesome Calgary Wedding Photography

You know how they say "it's all in the details"? Well, Amanda took this to heart...and then some. She planned every aspect of their wedding with the most incredible detail. She was so particular, in fact, that the coordinator at their venue (Willow Park Golf & Country Club) thought that SHE was the wedding planner! Could there be a career change in the near future? :)
So, what does this kind of attention to detail result in? A virtually limitless supply of detail shots! Nat was in heaven...

This is but a tiny smattering of what we captured that day!

As per usual, click the pics for their larger counterparts.

Weekend visit with delightful friends...and a serious baby.

This past weekend we braved the snow...and ice...and wind...and more snow to visit our positively delightful friends Jenny and Darren (and their new addition to the family, Maria) in Brooks, AB.

Now let me just say this...kids love me. They're amused by my antics. I mean, who isn't? This weekend, however, little Maria decided everything was serious business. She's normally got quite a watchful eye on the world, but there was something...peculiar...about that huge guy in the green shirt with that big black thing making noises in front of her face that just didn't sit quite right with her.

Hence, the repeated stink-eye I got from this little bundle of joy...

...and then April decided to join Maria in that evil-eyed glare. To be fair, April has had a few more years of practice sneering at me...

As always, Maggie was a complete angel with the tasty micro-human. Even when the child-being started tugging her fur, Maggie simply batted an ear, looked at her with mild amusement, and promptly fell asleep again.

Olive kept a constant vigil too. For many reasons, Maria was the most interesting smelling object in the room and must be protected at all costs.
I love our doggehs...

Children...they're watching you.

Seattle Photography -- Eric Stenberg Photography

Today marks the anniversary of something pretty damn special to Nat and myself. Yes, our wedding anniversary was just a couple of days ago, but exactly one year ago was the beginning of our southbound travels for our unbelievably awesome honeymoon; the honeymoon that introduced us to two of the best things EVER...the world's finest cupcakes, and Seattle.

Just a few pics for today...more to follow soon!

In Bellingham, Washington (about an hour south of the 49th) there exists a small historical district known as Fairhaven. If you've watched Gilmore Girls, you can think of it as the west coast equivalent of Stars Hollow. The biggest difference between the two is that Stars Hollow wishes it had a bakery the likes of Katie's Cupcakes.

About an hour south of Bellingham lies our favourite city...Seattle. Nat and I stayed at the Edgewater Hotel on a whim, mostly influenced by it's proximity to Pike Place Market. We were beyond delighted with it! Close to everything, and the area was breathtaking!

Unlike here in Calgary, the leaves turn red in the fall and actually stay on the trees...almost until Xmas!

Post Alley at night...

The Market Theatre "gum wall" in Post Alley. Hygenic? Not even close. Neato? Hell yes...as long as you don't think too hard about it...

Fortune & Sean - Calgary Wedding Photography

As per usual, I'm WAAAAY behind on my blog posts. In a few days I'll be heading away to sunny California for a few weeks so I'm under strict orders (from myself) to fill in all the missing posts from the last couple of months!

So, to begin, Nat and I had the honour of shooting Fortune (super awesome owner of LiveBreathYoga) and Sean's fabulous wedding a couple of weeks ago. When Fortune approached us about shooting their wedding, she was very quick to mention that it would be a 30's themed shinding, and would take place in the über-hip Concept Lounge on 17th.

And it would all happen at night.

So...some of the swankiest fashion in the last 100 years, plus an urban-styled underground bar, combined with the night lights of 17th Ave and some of the coolest people we've ever met...

...we couldn't have resisted if we'd tried!

The local papparazzi doing what they do best, while the star of the show bravely smiles through it all...

A little bicep-kissin' action...

In case it wasn't immediately apparent, the tremendously serious (stoic even...) happy couple and their equally serious friends occasionally like to get a little silly. But only occasionally.......

I believe Fortune was trying to prove that her Kung Fu was stronger than Michelle's...

Thanks again to both of you for putting up with everything we asked you to do outside in the cold! I know you had as much fun as we did though!

Oh, and I believe I promised Jeff I'd animate this for him...
